JUROR'S STATEMENT: Bryan Yedinak, Themes + Projects, San Francisco, CA
Sanctuary can be defined in many different ways, depending on the circumstance, in which the context is used. Upon jurying this exhibition, I chose to align my consciousness with the idea of peacefulness and tranquility, a safe and magical place of being and feeling. I was inspired to select pieces that are zen-like, dreamy, and often times playful. Overall, I feel the theme of, "Sanctuary, “ is a place to reflect and contemplate quietness and beauty. To me, this temporal escape was an enjoyable journey and exploration into so many wonderful works of art that were not limited to one artistic medium. My hope is that “Sanctuary” will bring the viewer a sense of calm reflection and possible escape, from our fast paced Silicon Valley world, and maybe bring a smile to your face.
