“Reflections” National Juried Exhibition
Artists interpret “Reflections” as the throwing back of light, an image you see when you look in a mirror, an image given back by a reflecting surface, as a careful thought about something, or a thought occurring in consideration or meditation.

"REFLECTIONS" NATIONAL JURIED EXHIBITION
"Reflections" National Juried Exhibition Juror’s Statement:
First of all, it has been an honor to participate as juror for the Reflections National Juried Exhibition, and I would like to thank Arc Gallery & Studios for this opportunity.
I have had the privilege to jury a range of contemporary art exhibitions, competitions, and have participated in many portfolio reviews throughout the years. No matter what anyone says, judging art is an not easy task and it is a process that should not be taken lightly. While objectivity is the ideal, it really comes down to subjectivity and personal judgment.
A wide range of media and styles were submitted and needed careful examination. Over the course of a week, I held various personal elimination rounds reviewing, second guessing myself, re-evaluating and ultimately selecting the works of art that I believe should be included in this national juried exhibition.
The first question I asked myself was; How does this submission address the theme of RefIections and its various meanings? Is the work unique and compelling? Does it demonstrate good technique and compositional harmony? More than anything else, did the submission move me and speak to me on an emotional level? Some of my selections immediately jumped out at me as powerful, while many others needed careful deliberation. I also considered how my final choices would function together as a cohesive exhibition.
I would like to mention that every submission had positive attributes, I would like to thank each artist from across the country who submitted entries, shared their genuine feelings and ideas, and gave it their very best.
