Through metamorphosis life forms and objects go through transformation of form, structure, or substance as if by magic or witchcraft. "Metamorphosis" features five women sculptors who work primarily in large format: Marguerite Elliot, Crystal Kamoroff, Jann Nunn, Ann Rowles and Sondra Schwetman. Through the use of heat and fire, and by knitting, arranging, layering and welding these artists transform metal, fiber, old clothes, wood and clay into sculptures that are astonishing in their size, heft and beauty. Metamorphosis also includes mid-size and smaller works by these artists that compliment and contrast with the larger works on display.
