"QUEERESTROOM: Taking Back the Bathroom" Exhibition
An exhibition that features the modified bathroom signs of Lauren Quock. What began as a reaction to years of strangers antagonizing her while waiting in line for the restroom has turned into a series of works that explore gender beyond the constructed binary and subvert an overlooked public space that reinforces it.
- Presented by Kearny Street Workshop, the nation’s oldest Asian Pacific American multidisciplinary arts organizations, and co-curated by Melanie Elvena and Joyce Juan-Manalo
OPENING RECEPTION: Friday, May 17th, 7-10PM
EXHIBITION: May 8-25, 2013
